Chamber Charities
The Southland Business Chamber staff proudly adopts and supports local charities on a rotational basis.
Today, the staff adopted Otago Southland Rescue Helicopter Trust as our new charity of choice.
The Trust saves lives in our southern communities 24/7, 365 days a year. The best sound in often desperate situations is the sound of one of the Otago Southland Rescue Helicopter Service helicopters arriving with its team of highly skilled pilots and intensive care paramedics, carrying specialised life-saving equipment.
Previously, our team delivered Meals on Wheels every fortnight, for three years, and during 2023-24 we adopted Ronald McDonald Family Room at Southland Hospital. The Chamber team also actively joined the support crew for the South Sea Spray – Waihopai (2023) event.
Another charity will be selected for 2026.
