Community Trust South boosts funding to $8 million for the upcoming year, including a $1 million Major Grants Round
Community Trust South has announced it has approved an increase of $500,000 to the general grants budget, up to $7 million for this coming year. The Trust will also open a Major Grants Round for 2021, investing $1 million into the community for grant requests over $75,000. Together, this brings the total grants budget up to $8 million for the year ahead.
“The increase in funding is an important development which allows the Trust to respond to the needs of our community by supporting projects and organisations that will make a tangible difference within our region. We will continue to provide funding support to the community where it is most needed.” Jackie Flutey, General Manager, Community Trust South
The Major Grants funding application is a two-stage process, with applications being sought for grants above $75,000. Stage One calls for Expressions of Interest and is now open, with applications due by 20 April 2021. For successful organisations who are invited to submit a full application as part of Stage Two, these will be due by 30 September 2021.
Applications for funding $75,000 and under are accepted throughout the year and the Trust will continue to focus on the most critical priorities identified in our Strategic Vision to ensure we are supporting people and communities most impacted by COVID-19.
“In making this decision to increase funding support the Board has carefully considered the potential for investment market uncertainty caused by COVID-19, against the very real needs in our community, while keeping in mind the perpetual nature of our Trust.” Trish Boyle, Chair, Community Trust South.
