An introduction to Strategic Thinking
With strategic thinking, you can create the future for yourself and your organisation.
Strategy is crucial for any organisation seeking to ensure their competitive edge, commercial sustainability and on-going growth. At the heart of strategy is strategic thinking, the ability to get from where you are now to where you want to be.
In today’s world, where change is a constant and expected part of life, strategic thinking links strategy and change, and focuses you on finding new strategic options and implementing them successfully, instead of just evaluating them.
Strategic thinking, as a mindset, should be adopted at every level of an organisation, from C-Suite through to front-line management. It is a thought process that focuses on analysing different factors, carefully seeking threats, while exploring & exploiting opportunities to pursue.
Strategic thinking can be crafted into a framework of developing, implementing, monitoring, and frequently reviewing an organization’s strategy. While structured, strategic thinking is less formal and more agile than strategic planning, giving you the ability to respond to changes – both, negative and positive ones – more rapidly.
