Building Self-Awareness and Appreciation of Others

“Like a thumbprint, personality type provides an instant snapshot of a person’s uniqueness.”

  • Do you want to know yourself better?
  • Have you wondered about the diverse and often surprisingly different ways that people in your life (partner, children, colleagues…) seem to look at the world or react to different situations?
  • Do you find it hard to relate to certain people or find the way some people communicate with you challenging?

This is a fun and interactive learning opportunity. The aim is of this workshop is to raise self-awareness for people individually about how they communicate and how their communication may be received by others and to help them understand how, as a team, they can interact more effectively and positively.

Learning content

  • Share each person’s Type and undertake some group activities to exaggerate differences and therefore enhance understanding, of the impact of behaviour on others.
  • Consider – ‘so now we know this about ourselves and others, what changes will we make to be more effective as a team member?' This includes individual development planning to set tangible actions for change.

Learning outcomes
Personality Type provides a framework for understanding individual differences, behavioural preferences and our interactions with each other, as well as our motivators and  strengths. Type provides insights to enhance self-awareness, understanding of others and increase personal effectiveness.

For sustainable personal development, it is key for individuals to start with an understanding of their own strengths, areas for development and preferred working styles. As well as assisting in self-development, understanding our own personality style in relation to others’ supports effective communication and teamwork. Through this understanding we can leverage similarities and differences to create trusted working relationships, positive working cultures and improve team relationships. An understanding of Type can also help us deal more effectively with conflict and identify and manage stress.
