Francois Barton
Executive Director Business Leaders' Health and Safety Forum.
We know that 2023 will bring a range of significant challenges for business, and in turn you as leaders and your people. There will undoubtedly be pressure on executive leadership teams as a result of political and economic challenges. The country starts 2023 already carrying the impacts of three years of a global pandemic, and now the start of a major period of recovery and rebuild following Cyclone Gabrielle.
A recent survey of Business Leaders’ Health and Safety Forum members saw 93% of CEOs and senior leaders agree that health and is an ongoing focus, and while that’s heartening, it’s crucially important to understand and be deliberate about about how we translate that intention into credible and sustained action – in the face of an ever-growing number of competing (and sometimes conflicting) demands.
Francois has spent the past six weeks speaking to more than 70 CEOs and senior leaders across the motu to understand their challenges and supporting them to understand how they, along with their senior leadership teams, intend to keep the safety, health and wellbeing of their people front and centre; and their critical risk controls working well. He’ll share the insights gained from those leaders, as well as support you and your organisation to understand the key things to consider in keeping your people safe and well in an uncertain environment.
