Cluster Development in Action


International evidence is clear: successful regional economies are based on strong clusters. Cluster development efforts connect firms with each other and with support organisations, fostering business growth, start-ups and job growth. Cluster development is now a centre-stage strategy around the world, with regions identifying and focusing on their strengths.

Learning outcomes
The What? and the Why? of cluster development, with an emphasis on The How? … the practicalities in resourcing and implementing a regional cluster development initiative in New Zealand … establishing collaboration around regional strengths. Twelve Steps in developing a cluster ecosystem will be introduced, including cluster identification and establishing crossagency luster Ignigtioin Teams. The role of cluster managers will be discussed. The 240 page Cluster Development Handbook is forwarded ahead of the training.

The webinar course is delivered in four modules over two mornings, starting on Tuesday 30 August. Every session is interactive with time for Q & A.

Thursday 1 September

Cost

$340 + GST for EDNZ members and $440 + GST for non-members Cost includes a copy of the Cluster Development Handbook.
