A cyber smart central and local government | Register

Local and central government are not immune from cyber criminals. The scammers are getting more sophisticated, and while we have nationwide and local system protections, as individuals we still have an important role to play.
In this webinar, the National Cyber Security Centre’s Mike Jagusch and Poni Lealofi from the Department of Internal Affairs will cover the threats and outline some of those protective systems. They’ll also discuss how you can take simple actions to protect your personal online security and keep your workplace more cyber secure too.

The NCSC has teamed up with Sonny Taite from Te Whatu Ora to present a webinar focussed on cyber risks in the health sector. We’ll discuss how we can work together to practise strong cyber security measures across the sector and protect personal information.
We’ll cover cyber threats, what’s happening locally and internationally, within the sector and wider. Presented by Director of Mission Enablement at the National Cyber Security Centre, Michael Jagusch with special guest, serial entrepreneur and technology innovator, Mitchell Pham, this webinar is specifically for smaller businesses and organisations.
Small to medium businesses are the target for nearly half of all cyber crime in NZ with one in three experiencing at least one cyber attack in the last six months. We will cover some of the threats and recent research we well as simple, no-cost actions small organisations can take to protect themselves.

Cyber security professionals are critical to the defence of New Zealanders and their businesses against cyber crime. This Cyber Smart Week, we’ve prepared a webinar designed specifically for the professionals working to keep us safe.
Jimmy Butcher from NCSC’s Regulatory and Advisory branch will review the current threat landscape, provide insights informed by research and outline our systemwide defence. He’ll be joined by Alastair Ross who has worked in IT and Information Security for 25 years. Alastair is now the CEO of Revolution InfoSec which helps kiwi organisations reduce their cybersecurity risk. There will be an opportunity for Q&A at the end of the session.
