Food Industry Professionals – Networking Event
There are a lot of food industry professionals working in the Southland region, but we get very few opportunities to network with other like-minded folks from within the food industry, be they technical, quality or other related specialists. We’d like to change that.
On 7 March at 6:30pm, we’d like to invite you to join us at the Pioneer Food Hub in Invercargill (147 Spey St, above The Seriously Good Chocolate Company) for a networking event, a couple of drinks and some nibbles. This event is free and open to all food industry professionals. There is no obligation, just an opportunity to network with like-minded food industry professionals.
The NZIFST exists as the NZ food industry organisation for science, technology, quality and regulatory professionals. It serves many functions within NZ, representing our professional interests, helping develop the next generations of food industry professionals and bringing like-minded people together for networking opportunities. We also organise the annual conference, which for 2023 will be held in Dunedin at the start of July.
Our local branch of the NZIFST is the Otago Southland branch, which is currently based largely out of Dunedin, focused around the University of Otago Department of Food Science. Right now in Southland, we have very few members, but then again, we also hold very few events. It’s hard to have one without the other, so we decided it was time to organise some networking opportunities, of which this is the first. If it works, people enjoy participating and we get good feedback, we’ll look to continue these on a regular basis.
For catering purposes, please RSVP by 1st March if you would plan to join.
