Supporting and Promoting Screening in the Workplace
Screening is an important tool available to help spot cancers and HPV at an early stage, helping to reduce the risk of disease, and increase the chance of detecting cancer early. Workplaces are in a unique position to support and encourage their eligible employees to screen. By doing so, they are contributing to a caring and supporting culture, with the likely benefits of screening including improved staff health and decreased risk of early death due to cancer related illnesses.
What is included in the workshop?
- Time to Screen (Health NZ) will discuss the three screening programmes available in New Zealand (bowel, breast and cervical) and the importance of screening.
- The Cancer Society will discuss how workplaces can support employees who have been diagnosed with cancer.
- The WorkWell team will present new screening resources. These include actions workplaces can implement to support and promote screening in the workplace.
This webinar is intended for business owners, managers, wellbeing leads, health and safety representatives and staff members with a passion for increasing screening awareness within the workplace.
