TEC & MOE Consultative Meetings

You are invited to attend one of the Consultative Meetings on 20th August 2024 with senior leaders from the Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) and Ministry of Education (MOE).

Session 1 – 2.30pm to 3.30pm
Session 2 – 3.45pm to 4.45pm

These meetings will be held at SIT’s Hansen Hall and are open to the public and the media.

The TEC and MOE leaders are conducting Consultative Meetings to explain and discuss the Government’s proposal on the Redesign of the vocational education and training (VET) system.

These are very important meetings for Southland because they impact on the future of SIT, and time has been set aside for the session leaders to answer questions and receive comments.

The detailed knowledge and different perspectives of people across New Zealand will help determine the final decisions on the VET redesign. Copies of the consultation document are available at consultation.education.govt.nz.

Submissions can be made via an online form at consultation.education.govt.nz or by emailing VocationalEducation.Reforms@education.govt.nz  It is important to note that you need to provide written feedback because comments made in the meetings will not be included as feedback to the Government.
