Work Smarter. AI Literacy for Communications and Marketing

You don’t need to be an AI expert. But you do need AI literacy.

AI won’t replace your job, but someone who knows how to use it will.

This has never been more true than it is for marketing and communications professionals.

However, in the same breath – we are seeing a once-in-a-generation opportunity to amplify our skills, to maximise the resources we do have, and to focus our energy on the work that really makes a difference.

Being AI literate is now an essential skill for our future. Our North Island and Christchurch workshops are selling out with overwhelmingly positive feedback and we’re delighted to bring this workshop to Invercargill. Don’t miss this opportunity.

Whether you’re an AI beginner or you’re a regular dabbler, this two hour in-person workshop will show you exactly how to make sure you are working with AI, not against it – without losing the creativity, strategic insight, and community nuance that makes you invaluable.

You’ll learn

  • Why AI is suddenly everywhere – and why that matters for communications and marketing people.
  • Understanding AI so that you can apply it to the right tools for your role
  • How to use AI for content creation, workflow, and strategy without devaluing human skillsets
  • How to use AI critically, and understand the risks, red flags and ethics
  • How to train AI to sound like you; so it reflects your brand, not generic outputs
  • Step-by-step ways to save hours a week without cutting corners
  • How to get your team onboard and start using AI safely and effectively
  • Why early adopters are getting ahead fast, and how to future-proof your skills.

This workshop is built for

  • Marketing, communications and engagement professionals who want to retain value in our changing industry
  • AI curious professionals and business owners
  • Anyone who’s been avoiding AI, and wants real, practical ways to use AI to improve marketing, communications and engagement right now.

You’ll walk away with

  • A practical understanding of AI, how it works and why it might not have been working for you already
  • A toolkit of recommended AI tools tailored to your needs
  • Clear workflows you can apply the next day
  • Confidence to use AI without risking your brand, credibility or ethics
  • The understanding of how to integrate AI into your work, team and organisation
  • No tech jargon. No hype. Just proven ways to improve your work, stay relevant, and get ahead.

About
 Lizi Guest (your workshop facilitator).

I’m the founder of Little & Loud, an award-winning public relations and communications agency. We’ve worked with more than a hundred organisations; from local councils and government agencies to fast-growing businesses and national brands. We were also named as the top New Zealand consultancy of our size by PRINZ in 2024.

I believe that clever thinking should be shared. So we facilitate a group of 550+ industry professionals, providing low-cost professional development opportunities, career connections, and advice.

I’ve spent my career helping comms and marketing teams work smarter and navigate the constant changes in our industry. This includes working with AI tools in real-world settings, figuring out what actually works and applying it for our broad client base. And no, that doesn’t mean preaching AI-generated content. My focus is making AI accessible, ethical, and practical for people who don’t have time to waste – because knowledge is power, and understanding AI will make your job easier, not harder.
