Workshop – Food Concepts – Hygiene and Quality
Southern Pioneers Foodhub and Pacific Coast Technical Institute are proud to support local food innovation with a food related workshop looking at the fundamentals of food production. We believe it will be the start of an awesome future combining expertise and encouraging collaborative relationships and networks, all delivered in our purpose built facility here at the Southern Pioneers Foodhub.
So, embark on your career journey in the innovative food production industries.
Potential workshop participants are working in or planning to work in Food concepts/Beverage/Nutrition and Health/Medicinal industry. Participants will work and study on “Real-life Real time” food hygiene and quality testing workshop. This workshop looks at the fundamentals of coordinating/measuring and managing concepts around Food Hygiene, quality, inputs, and communication.
Trainees will have an opportunity to investigate different production elements using the equipment provided at The Southern Pioneers Food Hub, 147a Spey Street, Invercargill and even potentially discuss/investigate commercial viability of products developed for the marketplace.
All successful candidates will complete;
Unit standard 20666- Demonstrate Basic Knowledge of Contamination Hazards and control methods in a Food Business (Level 2 – 2 Credits)
Those candidates who are interested can continue on a NZ certificate in Food and Beverage Processing (level 2) which can be completed over the next 9 months in your food business or via a series of workshops at the Southern pioneers Food hub at no additional cost.
