Expression of Interest: Business Transition Research Project

To help Southland build its economic, environmental and social resilience through and beyond the planned closure of the NZAS in December 2024, The Southland Business Chamber has been contracted to undertake an in-depth research project to identify what support businesses need to successfully navigate the transition, with a focus on SMEs and start-ups.

This research is to identify:

  1. Impact of NZAS’ closure on Southland businesses and the support required to transition to new markets and, where appropriate, sectors.
  2. What changes to downstream businesses’ systems, processes, people and technology, are required to achieve improvements in efficiency, effectiveness and stakeholder satisfaction, with a focus on SMEs and start-ups.
  3. Recommendations and initiatives for implementing these changes.

We are calling for expressions of interest from individuals or businesses to work alongside The Southland Business Chamber and COIN South in undertaking this research project.
