Covid-19 cases rising in the south, affecting workplaces
Southland Business Chamber president Neil McAra agreed Covid-19 cases were rising, saying it was putting pressure on already short-staffed businesses. “Definitely employers are noticing the impact on short-term absentee rates as a consequence of Covid,” McAra said.

Southland launches its own Monopoly board
Monopoly: Southland Edition is the first to be produced for a South Island town or city. The street names are replaced with iconic southern spots around the region including Te Anau, Rakiura National Park and Gore. The tokens have also been switched out – the Bluff Oyster, Invercargill Water Tower and Burt Munro on his motorcycle making a feature.

Mayors play to win as Southland Monopoly game launched
The trio were the first to play Southland’s Monopoly game yesterday. It will be officially released by the Southland Business Chamber this Saturday at Invercargill’s Santa Parade.
