ENGAGE, Southland Engineering and Manufacturing Cluster update
A fantastic event held last night at the Southland Business Chamber with the Southland Engineering and Manufacturing Cluster update, and the announcement of their new name going forward, ENGAGE – Engineering Southland’s future.
The update gave an overview of the information collected over the last six months from the business and stakeholder interviews.
Engage also outlined their vision, values, future opportunities, and the direction the initiative is heading in response to industry needs.
ENGAGE values are:
- Unity – together we can achieve more.
- Real – Straight-forward, no-nonsense approach.
- Growth – Think big, aim high.
- Enthusiasm – Energy in everything we do.
The ENGAGE initiative is all about continued collaboration, supporting the Engineering & Manufacturing businesses in Southland, promoting careers for youth into trades and bringing new industry into Southland.
Our guest speaker at the event was Ivan Waterfield from HunterNet in Australia.
HunterNet is an extremely successful co-operative/cluster in Newcastle that has been operating for over 30 years.
Ivan presented the ENGAGE team with an honorary membership, becoming the first ever International HunterNet Co-operative Partner which will open opportunities for information sharing and international collaboration.
