Essential Leadership Skills – Eastern Southland
It was our pleasure to host a one-day Essential Leadership Skills course at The Croydon Lodge, Eastern Southland today.
This course provided participants with an introduction to the skills to successfully manage and lead their teams.
We discussed:
- What matters in teams – the key elements of leading high performance teams
- Leader versus manager
- Appreciating the importance of self awareness
- Building effective communication skills, listening and feedback
- High performance model – skill/will matrix of staff
- Delegation
- Coaching staff using the GROW model
- Dealing with conflict (assertiveness and conflict management styles)
- Importance of motivation – how do you motivate your team?
