Meet the Candidates – Fiordland
The Fiordland Meet the Candidates evening hosted by the Fiordland Business Association (FBA) was attended by approximately 140 members of the public who came to meet, hear and see the candidates standing for the Fiordland Community Board, Environment Southland – Fiordland Constituent, Mararoa Waimea Ward and of course the Mayor for Southland District Council.
All candidates were given the opportunity to introduce themselves, advise why they put themselves forward, and what they would like to achieve if elected. Candidates also received a written question on entry, submitted by the public prior to the evening and given an opportunity to speak and respond to others during the evening.
This proved to be a very informative evening giving the local community a great opportunity to get informed before they make their choices and tick the voting papers.
