The Great Debate – Invercargill
What a night! The Ascot Park Hotel was buzzing with energy as the Invercargill community came together for THE GREAT DEBATE! A dynamic evening of civic engagement, sharp questions, and meaningful conversations.
Duncan Garner- award-winning broadcaster and fearless interviewer- was nothing short of phenomenal as our MC. With his trademark wit and commanding presence, Duncan kept the crowd engaged and the candidates on their toes, ensuring every voice in the room had a chance to be heard.
Candidate Speed Dating kicked off the evening, offering attendees a rare chance to meet Invercargill City Council candidates face-to-face in an intimate, fast-paced format. The conversations were lively, informative, and empowering – many attendees said it was the highlight of the night!
The Great Debate followed, where mayoral hopefuls tackled tough questions and shared their visions for the future of our city. The panel discussion was spirited, respectful, and deeply relevant to the issues that matter most to our community.
Attendees left feeling well-informed, well-entertained, and more connected to the democratic process than ever before. We’re proud to have hosted an event that not only sparked dialogue but also strengthened civic participation in Invercargill.
