SIT is Back – Why Southland’s Institution Matters

It is the restoration of an institution that has long been central to our regional identity and economic strength. SIT has always been a strategic asset for Southland. It brings students into the region contributes to business performance and supplies skilled graduates to the industries that drive our economy.
A strong independent SIT allows Southland to shape its own future. Local leadership can respond directly to workforce needs collaborate with employers and design programmes that reflect the realities of our region. This responsiveness is how SIT became a national leader in innovation affordability and student experience and that capability is now firmly back in local hands.
Education anchors people to place. Students who learn here often stay here and skilled workers who relocate to study often choose to build their futures in Southland.
