Southland themed Monopoly board game
Southland is getting its own version of Monopoly, to be released in time for Christmas.
The Southland Business Chamber is creating this special limited edition board game as a way to promote our region, and support our community in an innovative, fun and entertaining way.
The Chamber is not lifting the lid on the details about what will feature on the board but Sheree Carey CE Southland Business Chamber said this edition of Monopoly will take you on a journey of contrasts and offers world class scenery from snow-capped mountain peaks to the deepest lakes, stunning fiords, fertile farmland, majestic wilderness, stretching coastline to the wild Southern Ocean.
Joanne O’Connor, Project and Engagement Manager Southland Business Chamber said “We think the Southland community will love the game just as much as we do. Your journey will begin from the rich cultural heart of Eastern Southland, before exploring one of the Top 10 drives of the World – The Southern Scenic Route. A majestic trip through a world of spectacular waterfalls and rugged coastlines leads to The Catlins Coast. Follow the pathway to Invercargill through to Stirling Point, Bluff. Visit Rakiura / Stewart Island, returning to the mainland to explore the pristine wilderness of Fiordland via the stunning, lush greens and blues of Western Southland and Northern Southland.”
Pre-sales are open, and the arrival in November will have Christmas shopping lists sorted. “This will be a perfect gift for family, friends, and Southlanders’ living outside the region; or to say thank you to staff, clients and suppliers. Also a great asset for local tourist attractions, motels and hotels to promote the region to visitors”, Mrs Carey said.

The game is being sold by the Southland Business Chamber for $59.95.
