Carla is passionately involved in the wider business community and is an outspoken advocate for Southland. She holds numerous positions within the community including the Southern Institute of Technology Post Graduate Business Diploma Advisory Committee, past chairwoman of the Glass Elevator professional women’s networking group, trustee of the Dog Island Motu Piu Trust, and trustee of the Southland Graham Dingle Foundation. She is also an advocate for youth and young women in business.
Carla is the owner of Market South; an award-winning marketing, design, advertising and market research agency based in Invercargill. As Creative Director, she heads up a team of digital marketing and communication consultants, strategists, researchers, copywriters, graphic designers and web designers, servicing a national and international client base. Carla is an engagement and brand specialist. Within Market South she runs a publishing brand called The Locals, which creates and publishes The Life magazine, alongside Southland-based visitor publications, books and maps.
