Kate French
I am a cheerleader of regional food, a mum to two boys and a business owner.
I have co-owned The Batch Café for over ten years. I understand the stamina required to operate a business trading seven days a week with a 20 plus strong team. Through my experience at The Batch, I have learnt a deep understanding of what business success looks like in the service industry.
A thriving city cannot exist without a thriving food industry. Food connects all people and cultures. For this reason, it is critical to have industry knowledge and insight amongst the decision makers for our region and specifically our business leaders. As a primary producing region, right now there are endless opportunities for business in food, but it will take focused and knowledgeable leadership to bring these to fruition.
Brewing coffee by day keeps me well connected and in touch with the business community. As a Board member for the Chamber of Commerce, I will bring strong communication skills, the ability to build relationships with diverse groups of people and experience in the challenges of local business management to the table – topped off with enthusiasm and energy.
I am committed to building partnerships and collaborating with community leaders to build a vibrant and thriving local economy.
