Dr Keri Milne-Ihimaera
Dr. Keri Milne-Ihimaera (DMDA)
Keri moved to Bluff three years ago from Auckland, to learn more about her whakapapa connections to Southland through her ties to Ruapuke Island and her ancestors Hinetūhawaiki and John Kelly.
She runs her own consultancy business in Bluff, and offers clients a distinctly Māori woman’s perspective based on her previous experiences as a General Manager, Doctor of Māori Development and Advancement (DMDA), Executive Director and School Principal. She has recently finished a part time role at SIT/Te Pūkenga as the General Manager – Māori Development. Keri’s governance roles include being on the Boards of WellSouth, The Cancer Society, and the Academic Advisory Board of Ako Mātātupu (TeachFirst NZ). She is a current Trustee on Te Rūnaka o Awarua.
Keri is passionate about improving outcomes for Māori and hopes to be able to build on the contributions of others to progress the many aspirations of Māori in the wider community of Southland.
In her part time (!) she manages her own office/collaboration space in Bluff – The Tari, and runs their AirBnB business RUA at Bluff.
She is married to David, is Mum to four adult children and Nanny to seven mokopuna.
